Salma Hayek just clocked half a million views in under two hours for big-time shaking it to Britney Spears’ most-iconic track. The 54-year-old actress’ Monday Instagram update needed no introduction as fans saw her shouting out 39-year-old Britney, with “…Baby One More Time” taking things back to 1998 – with a 2021 twist.
Salma was partaking in a challenge linked to her upcoming movie “The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard,” with a coordinated group dance re-creating Britney’s moves. See why the views are racking up below
Scroll for the video. Posting for her 18 million Instagram followers as she continues to gain fans, Salma shared an indoor and wood-floored setting as she was backed by four others and with Grammy winner Spears’ hit song blasting in the background.
Dressed in flared black yoga pants, a baggy matching tee, and comfy sneakers, the “Frida” star busted out her impressive moves all hair-whipping, mouthing to the lyrics, and even kicking a leg up high at the end for an energetic flourish.
Salma, tagging the song, took to her caption, writing: “Show me your #hitmanschallenge baby!Muéstrame tu mejor #hitmanschallenge baby!”
“I’ll be watching….. #hitmanswife @hitmansbodyguard @lionsgate @britneyspears,” she added, before thanking a full glam team: “Thank you team @miguelmartinperezldn @sofiaschwarzkopftilbury @katewilliams0n @nicolasviolson @charlottedstvl @marcdeaustin.”
Fans are going wild. Fire and heart emoji poured in, and it wouldn’t be the first dance Salma has delivered this year. Showing her love of pole dancing in 2021, the Mexican has shouted out her love of spicy hot dogs and diners, too. More photos after the video.

Britney Spears is now majorly in the news for just about everything she says or does in the wake of February-released “Framing Britney Spears” documentary. The “Toxic” singer, who became a sex symbol in her teens and went onto dominate pop music, has stated she felt “embarrassed” by the media. She’s also been making headlines for continuing to battle 68-year-old dad Jamie Spears in her legal battles.
“Wow, that went quick. It was such a fun and crazy time, it was a bit of a blur,” Britney said as 20 years of “…Baby One More Time” approached. More below.
A snake wrapped around Britney might make for iconic VMAs footage, but Hayek did it first with 1996 movie “From Dusk Till Dawn.” Reflecting on her snake dance scene in 2002, the actress revealed:
“It was months of preparation for that one dance. And to me it wasn’t a dance, it was a ritual. I investigated snakes and I found that in some cultures it means your inner power. So that was a dance with my inner powers.”
