Ms. Marvel Star Breaks Silence on Major X-Men Reveal

Most people have responded favorably to Kamala Khan’s entrance, and she has been a wonderful addition to the Marvel universe. Iman Vellani’s character will undoubtedly be the topic of conversation for weeks to come as the Disney+ season finale’s final moments made quite a stir.

Before departing for Caltech, Bruno had a surprise to deliver on Kamala Khan in the last moments of the program: her DNA has a mutation. She is the first mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this is not just the first time the word has ever been used in the MCU.

Iman Vellani, the actress who plays Kamala Khan, is a huge Marvel fan. What did she make of everything? She was undoubtedly as thrilled as everyone else in the world, if not more so.

Iman Vellani talks about that X-Men Twist

Ms. Marvel actor Iman Vellani discussed the moment she found out her character will be a part of using the word “mutation” for the very first time in MCU history in a discussion with Marvel.

They “mailed [her], and only [her], the script [of the last episode],” and Vellani remembered how she “was freaking out:”

The Ms. Marvel actress might be the first to find out, but Matt Lintz, who plays Bruno, was eventually informed because he had to deliver the line. The actor stated that the directors were “extremely discreet about [the] whole affair” and that initially “they didn’t even have it in [the script]”:

Even though the scenario was straightforward, it took Vellani and Lintz some time to film it since they couldn’t stop laughing as they tried to act it out.

Kamala Khan, an X-Men?

It’s at least conceivable given that she most likely qualifies as a mutant. But in addition to the need for that larger group to be formed beforehand, there are a few Kree links that require some explanation.

A blue arm—likely belonging to a Kree—was where the bangle Kamala was wearing when it was discovered. Why is that relevant? Given that Ms. Marvel’s genetic heritage in the classic comic books was derived from the Inhumans, this is very noteworthy. Could her mutation be caused by something other than the MCU’s unknown X-Gene?

The major disclosure has a lot of questions, and when The Marvels premieres internationally on July 28, 2023, it is hoped that she will make a subsequent cameo in the film to offer some much-needed clarification.
