The first season of the series is based on the first two books in the Witcher series, The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny. These are not the main series but rather a collection of short stories showing the characters'”backstories. The first long form – witcher – novel The Blood Elf opens with Ciri and Kaers Morhen recalling many of the events they experienced during the first season. It was easy to believe that the series would continue at WitcherCon from the end of the first season given the many flashbacks, but the second begins with the Battle of Sodden Hill and Ciris meeting Geralt.

Netflix has not revealed how many of our characters will have to come together by the end of the first season of the show, but it is likely that Season 2 will heavily draw heavily from the next book, Blood of the Elves, the first book of the witcher series. While season 1 of The Witcher focused on bringing together Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer, season 2 was supposed to expand the world we know now. Hissrich revealed that season 2 will be adapted from Blood of Elf, the first full-length The Witcher book.

Using short stories that exploit Geralt, Rivias, and Henry Cavill as they are drawn into the great political battles on the continents, the second season will begin to use this material to write a longer-form novel that gives the title characters more meaning than it meanders. The Time of Contempt, the book that follows the blood elves and sees the involvement of other new characters in The Witcher Season 2 will reconnect Geralt in the series on a more intimate level by using elements from the book as a basis to bring back and conduct wild hunting missions with Ciri. The blood elves become Ciri’s mentors and teachers during their time in Kaer Morhen, and the book will continue the story she tried to bring to Arutuza, where she continues her teaching and application of magic.

Netflix has released a little tease for Season 2 of The Witcher, and it gives us a hint that it will take one of the best stories of the book series. If you decide that you can’t wait for the season to begin to see where the story goes, you might like to compare this episode with A grain of truth, the third story in The Last Wish, the first book published in The Witcher by Sapkowski. After defeating the Army of the North in the Battle of Sodden Hill and reuniting Geralt and Ciri, The Witcher concludes with the last wishes and the sword of destiny in the first season.

A new feature for The Witcher Season 2 reveals details of the first episode, and showrunner Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich confirms that it’s a “The Witcher 2″ adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Grenade of Truth.
In a statement to Deadline, Hissrich also confirmed that Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Yennefer, Freya Allan and Ciri will return for the second season of The Witcher as expected after starring in a number of books based on the show. Fans who have read the books, at least after casting characters like Coen, Yasen Atour, Eskel Thue, Erste Rasmussen-Lambert and Paul Bullion, know that season 2 will explore Kaer Morhen’s training. Whichever route we know, Henry (Cavill), Geralt (Chalotra) and Freya (Allan) as Ciri will be heading home to Kaers, and her outfit for the season will correlate with the Witcher Girls armor she has put on in the books.

Based on the iconic video game series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is your next bingewatch to follow the fate of Geralt von Rivia (Cavill), a lonely monster hunter who stumbles from one life-threatening situation to the next. The Witcher Book Series consists of two short story collections (The Last Wish and The Sword of Fate) and five books that are part of the main saga (The Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower that Swallows the Lady of the Lake and the standalone Season of the Storm), so there’s plenty of them to cover if you want to. The events of episode eight (the Battle of Sodden Hill) happen, but they are told in the books, and the showrunners of The Witcher have said they will continue to draw events from Sapkowski’s stories.

Based on the Polish book series by Andrzej Sapkowski and inspired by three videos of increasing quality, Netflix’s The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt von Rivia, a travelling monster hunter who spends his days making a living in a scary and bizarre world. The first season of The Witcher, an adaptation of Andrzesj Sapkowski’s fantasy novel known as the popular game adaptation received mixed reviews from fans and critics; the first season managed to become one of the most popular shows on Netflix at the end of 2019, and we can only imagine that the catchy bard song played a part. A grain of truth takes its name from a short story in Sapkowski’s book The Last Wish in which Nivellen is seen, a character played by Game of Thrones’Ke ts r ” HIVju in the Witcher season 2.
