Bethenny Frankel demonstrated just how ‘deceptive’ a photo filter can be as she posted a heavily edited photo of her bikini body on Wednesday. Frankel, 51, slightly altered her body in order to demonstrate just how ‘deceptive’ photos can be when a filter is applied.
In the first image, a heavily-filtered Bethenny displayed a slimmed down waist and enhanced cleavage as she posed on the beach in a taupe bikini. The next image, however, showed off the real Bethenny without the use of a filter.
In the caption, The Real Housewives Of New York star broke down just how damaging filters can be as she called them straight up ‘inaccurate’.
‘This is NOT what I look like…and you know that bc I’m not vain and show you the real me. But if I posted a version of this every day you might start to believe that it might be. This is just how distorted this has all gotten…’ she began.
‘Filtering is lying: it is deceptive. It makes women feel badly about themselves. It makes young girls insecure and obsessed with an unattainable perfection. It makes middle aged women and mothers feel insecure about themselves.
